About Growth Mindset

Senior advisory and build capability for complex operating decisions

Growth Mindset helps managers improve planning, reporting, forecasting, optimisation, and decision support where standard tools do not handle the detail well.

The consultancy is led by Rob Sickorez from Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. Clients work directly with the person who frames the question, designs the logic, and turns the result into something the business can use.

That direct model suits operational problems where process knowledge, data quality, business rules, and practical adoption all matter.

How Growth Mindset works

The same judgement shapes the question, the logic, and the output

Many planning projects weaken when strategy, analysis, and implementation are split between too many handovers. Growth Mindset is set up to avoid that gap.

The work starts with the operating decision and ends with a model, report, tool, or management process that reflects how the business actually plans and reviews work.

Find the real decision

Clarify who uses the result, what choices it supports, and which constraints cannot be ignored.

Make the assumptions visible

Turn business rules, data preparation, calculations, and judgement into logic that managers can review.

Build for repeated use

Produce an output that fits regular planning and reporting, not a one-off analysis that disappears after the meeting.

Founder background

Operations research experience applied to business planning

Rob began his career as a United States Air Force officer working in operations research. That work involved manpower planning, resource allocation, mathematical modelling, and briefings for senior decision makers.

He later worked across retail networks, healthcare operations, project management, financial reporting, workforce planning, and operational analytics before founding Growth Mindset.

Growth Mindset now applies that experience through focused consulting and build work, with recent company projects in postharvest production planning across Hawke’s Bay and the Bay of Plenty.

Good fit

Best suited to planning problems with rules, trade-offs, and repeatable decisions

Growth Mindset is most useful when the decision is important enough to need stronger logic, but practical enough that the answer must fit daily management use.

Information sits in several places

The team needs a clearer way to bring files, databases, reports, assumptions, and operating knowledge together.

Reports do not support the next plan

Managers can see what happened, but still need better help with what to do next.

Options need to be compared before commitment

Capacity, timing, labour, inventory, equipment, or service constraints affect the right choice.

Important logic is hidden in fragile tools

The business needs a more dependable way to review, adjust, and reuse the thinking behind a decision.
